Elle had never really done the whole going shopping with other girls thing before. Let alone with Claire. Let alone with two Claires. Things should be interesting, to say the least. She was trying her best not to show her slight anxiety as she stood in the middle of the food court with a Slush-O, waiting for the other two girls to arrive.

They were only shopping for lingerie, right? So that would probably just mean a store or two. And if she really got annoyed she would zap them or something. She smiled, that thought comforting her a little.

She still needed nicknames so she could differentiate between the two. Right now she was leaning towards Thing #1 and Thing #2.

Claire gulped at the fact that there was only a single black curtain to hide her body from everyone else, shouldn't they have a big door that went from ceiling to floor or something? She pulled her curtain shut as she went inside, and found that her hands were shaking as she undressed and prepared to change into one of the "outfits".

It took her a while to get the first one on, the one Elle had suggested for her. She looked at herself in the mirror and wrinkled up her nose, unsure if this as a side of her that anyone else ever needed to see. "I'm not sure if any of this will look right on me." She worried aloud, assuming Elle and other claire would hear her.

Elle would have been liked to get the other girls opinions, but she had a feeling that neither one of them would really be up for that. So she decided to be nice and spare them from some embaressement as she tried on the different outfits. See? She could be nice sometimes. If and when the mood struck her.

"What makes you say that? These things are made to make your body look better," Elle called out as she heard one of the Claires complain. Without seeing them, it was hard for her to tell which one she was talking to. This duplicate thing was confusing.

"Don't say that! That means it won't look good on me," Claire returned with a worried tone. The first outfit (http://media.filmschoolrejects.com/images/hayden-panettiere01.jpg) she tried on was making it hard for her to breathe with the way it cinched around her ribcage, and she squirmed a bit to shift the wiring around. "They may be made to make us look better, but they're definitely not made to be comfortable." She was choosing not to acknowledge that the point was that it wouldn't be on her for a particularly long time. That was just not a mountain she was ready to tackle.

After a long pause, she finally looked in the mirror, adjusting the top of the corset with slight discomfort, and called between the stalls. "I don't think I put this on right."

"This doesn't look right. It's too...revealing." Claire whined, and promptly took it off so she could find the one thing she had found that actually covered her. She didn't mind this one, despite the fact that it still made her feel awkward. But at least her boobs weren't entirely hanging out and there were no garters involved.

"Okay...I think I found one I like. It looks like a swimsuit or something though. One of you come look at it and tell me what you think. I don't mind this one all that much." She actually liked it, but she wasn't going to say that out loud.

"One at a time," Elle called out playfully, having just finished putting one of her own outfits (http://www.dailybabe.co.za/images/dailybabe_Kristen_Bell_258.jpg). "You two are hopeless, I just want you to know that." She couldn't help but tease them. They were making this way, way too easy for her. And fun.

She made her way to the first Claire's dressing room, not even bothering to knock before opening the door to let her in. "So what part of it feels wrong?" She asked as she began to tug at the corset, trying to align it better.

"Hey," Claire immediately moved to cover herself, arms crossing so she was hugging herself, and legs squeezing together. When she saw that Elle was in a similar state of undress, she felt a little better and loosened her grip, eventually dropping her hands away so the girl could freely fidget with the outfit. God damn Claire's life.

"I don't know, all these wires just ... feel weird." She patted her ribcage awkwardly, pressing the fabric some to try and alleviate pressure. After a brief pause, she looked at Elle. "That's really cute," she acknowledged. "I like the ruffles." Moving away from Elle's hands, she peeked out of the dressing room. "Come out so we can see," she told her other self.

Claire was going to protest, she was going to hide herself in the corner of the room, but if Elle had managed to walk out, and if her other self wasn't freaking out, then maybe it wasn't that bad. Ever so cautiously, she peeked her head out from behind the curtain and looked this way and then that. There were a few women standing around, but no men, and so Claire took her chance and bolted out from her room and rushed over into other Claire's.

She plowed right into Elle and recoiled back, falling flat on her backside. She just let out a grunt of protest as she realized yes, this was indeed her life. She looked up at Elle, head tipping off to the side. "She's right, the ruffes are cute."

[identity profile] blueshocks.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
"You just have to get used it, that's all," Elle assured Claire, straightening out the fabric a little more before pulling back. She smirked in appreciation of her work. "There. That looks much better."

She was just about to reply to the first Claire's compliment when the other Claire came plowing into her, causing her to stumble, her fingers sparking a little out of defense and surprise. "Be careful," she hissed, straightening up once more.

A moment later though, she was smiling sweetly again. "The ruffles are rather nice, aren't they?"

The fact that the Claires had picked out such similar outfits didn't escape her when she took the time to notice what other-Claire as wearing. She reached down and offered her a hand up, smiling. She was trying not to bend over too much, though, because there as a mirror behind her and the outfit didn't cover nearly enough of her butt for that to be okay.

"I'm not sure I'm ready for the 'getting used to it' stage yet," she admitted, looking up at Elle with a slightly concerned expression. Once she'd helped up her other self, she looked in the mirror, inspecting. "You don't think Sam will ... expect anything, right? I mean, I already told him I was going to get something, but I mean ..." It was really hard for her to come straight out and ask if Elle thought lingerie and actual sex had to go hand in hand.

"Sorry." Claire apologized to Elle, and accepted other-Claire's hand in getting up. She dusted off her backside, just because it felt a little drafty, and moved so she could go stand in the mirror next to her other self. She smiled as she realized how similar their outfits were, and gave other her a big thumbs up. "Okay, so even the lingerie we pick out is similar, that's a little creepy. But awesome creepy."

She too was wondering if guys expected things when girls wore things like this. The outfit was cute, she was almost feeling obligated to buy it, but she in no way had the courage to wear it around Michael yet, especially if sex was mandatory. "Maybe I'll...wait to get it. But we do look pretty amazing, don't we?"

[identity profile] blueshocks.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, wearing things like this does send a certain message to a guy, but I can't see Sam pressuring you into anything." Elle's expression darkened for a moment. "And if he ever does, just let me know and I'll teach him never to make that mistake again." She brought up one of her hands, letting it crackle with electricity for effect.

She'd never admit it, but she felt a little protective of the Claires. Like an older sister. Yes, she still felt jealous and spiteful sometimes, and she figured she probably always would to a certain degree, but she didn't really hate them. She even kind of liked their company. It was weird, okay?

Claire couldn't help but laugh at Elle's assurance -- it made her feel a lot more comfortable to joke about it like that, even if she knew Elle wasn't entirely joking. Still ...

"Sam would never do that, you're right. But, I don't want to get his hopes up or something and then just ... " Cockblock him. It seemed rude, and she's heard enough talk from football teams to know that teasing to that extent was generally frowned upon by the entire male populace. She turned to look at her other self.

"You should get it, even if you don't want to wear it soon, they might not have it by the time you actually get around to ... needing it." She put up little airquotes around 'needing it,' and smiled some. "Besides, it could be good to put on when you need to feel pretty." Because, in all honesty, Claire was positive that all girls had those moments. She took one of her hangers from the wall mount, looking over the yellow, floral-lace bustier (http://images7.yandy.com/Products/4981_Natural.jpg) for a brief moment before addressing both blondes. "You don't think this will make me look like a kid, do you?"
