Once again, Claire was trying to patiently teach Elle how to cook something. Today’s task was chocolate chip cookies. So far, it wasn’t going so great. The first batch Elle had ruined putting too much salt in it. The second patch didn’t have enough baking powder so it didn’t rise correctly. They were on the third batch now.

“Make sure to measure out each proportion carefully,” Claire instructed in an almost motherly tone, watching as the other began to mix together the ingredients.
