electrokinetic: (Nervous)
Elle had been more than a little nervous getting ready for their Valentine's Day date. She had never planned something like this before. She had asked for advice from other girls and gotten some suggestions, but eventually, she decided on just trying to do something simple. They had both been a little awkward before going out, so she thought maybe it would be nicer if they just stayed in this time.

She had met with Claire earlier this week (not Sam's Claire, but the other one) and she had helped show Elle how to cook dinner for Dean. The first few tries hadn't gone very well, but she finally had gotten a batch okay. She had kept it simple, cheeseburgers and homemade french fries. She was pretty sure he'd prefer that over something fancy anyways. She hoped so.

She wanted them to have a nice time, things had been a little rocky for both of them lately, and she just...wanted to have a nice time. Besides, this was her first time celebrating with someone.

Even though they were staying in she had still dressed up, wearing a nice red dress. She had blow dried her hair, letting it frame her face with a small curl.

She was lighting the candles she had placed out on her table, occasionally glancing at the clock now, waiting for him to arrive.

Elle couldn't help but feel a little awkward as she stood outside the motel door. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to say or do in this sort of situation. She had never been one to talk about her feelings or anything like that. It was against Company policy. You pushed feelings aside, make sure they didn't interfere with the job you needed to do.

Not that she was part of the Company anymore or that it even existed anymore but it was hard to just push away the learning that you had been raised on.

But Sylar had really gotten to her earlier, the way he begged and pleaded for her to just forgive him and be with him again. Like it was that simple. It wasn't. She had moved on, she was with Dean and she liked him a lot. She was happy. She wasn't going to give that up for someone like Sylar.

Of course, when she was talking to Dean earlier, she had still been really upset, and she was afraid she had given off the wrong impression. She didn't want him to thik she had any lingering feelings for Sylar or anything. It wasn't like that. She wanted to be with Dean and no one else, it was just...hard to push away those feelings of hurt and betrayal compltely. To push back that fear that Dean might turn on her someday too, just like everyone else in her life.

But Claire had convinced Elle to go talk to Dean, so there she was. The other blonde had even promised to take Sam out for as long as possible.

So she finally took a deep breath, bringing a hand up to knock on the door, a few stray anxious sparks playing across her hand as she did so. What was the worst that could happen?

Maybe she should have brought a pie or something as a peace offering. Too late now.

Sam was out with Claire for the evening which meant that Elle and Dean had the motel room to their selves for once. Sure, they could just go to Elle’s place if Sam was going to be around, but there was something exciting to Elle about hanging out in a motel room, like some normal couple on a trip together or something. She had never stayed at a motel or hotel unless she was on an assignment for the Company, and being on a job had always taken the fun out of it for her.

As they had the place to themselves Elle was dressed pretty simply, just wearing one of Dean’s t-shirts while he lounged around in a pair of boxers and a tank top. Neither one of them had really felt like getting dressed properly again after some of their earlier activities. They were currently curled up on the bed together, taking shots for a drinking game they had developed when watching a marathon of old horror movies. Every time someone made a bad decision without thinking, they took a shot.

Needless to say, as Elle was shorter and skinnier than Dean, she began to feel the effects of the drinking much quicker. And to a worse degree as well.
